_____________________________________________________________
Born
1955 in Hayward, CA. Part Native American (Creek/Muskogee); parents from Oklahoma.
Politically active since 1972, when I leafletted outside of Safeway stores
in support of the United Farm Workers grape boycotts. Campaigned for San Jose's
first female Mayor, Janet Gray Hayes in 1974. Active throughout the 70's in
antinuclear protests. Moved to San Luis Obispo in 1988. Continued my protests
against Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant.
I joined the Green Party in 1990, for Mindy Lorenz' first campaign for Congress.
Campaigned for her again in 1992. I served as Chair or co-Chair of the GPCA
Campaigns and Candidates Working Group (CCWG) from 1996 to 2002.
From 1992 to 2000, I was the most active Green in my County, tabling, served
as Treasurer for 10 years, leading demonstrations, etc. Green registration
in SLO County increased ten-fold.
I was appointed to the City Mass Transit Commission from 1998-2000, and the
Planning Commission from 2000-2006. In 2004 I ran for City Council, placing
4th of 7 for 2 seats.
I now serve on our GP-SLO County Council, as I have for most of the past 15
years. Currently I am heading up a campaign for IRV for the City's Mayoral
race.
