Fourth of July, 2001, the Day of Interdependence
| Enron had been robbing us blind, with the blessing of pResident Bush and Governor "everyone has a price" Davis. Some people in Long Beach decided they were going to do something about it! We marched down to the Los Alamitos Power Plant in Long Beach and placed an eviction notice on their front door (actually, we couldn't reach the door because they placed a special security fence up just for us - isn't that special?). We also demanded some radical things, like sustainable power and accountable government. Long Beach's finest were there with us every step of the way and in abundance - your tax dollars at work.
