Tree Planting on November 15, 2008

We were planting in the median	We started with a demonstration	Dozens of volunteers showed up	We had a crew from Jet Blue	and even a troop of brownies!
Councilmembers Tonia Reyes Uranga (who secured funding for the planting) and Gerrie Schipske (whose district the planting was in) both showed up to help	Our diehard greens were there, including coordinator Gabrielle Weeks	But we had lots of  friends helping out	In the end it took a lot of teamwork to make the event a huge success	And it seemed like just about everyone had a great time
We also must thank Long Beach DPW for helping us during the day, and maintaining the trees, including watering them right away	Here's a large group gathering at the end of the day taking pride in the number of trees we planted	Each tree planted was also named.  We named the very first tree in honor of Peter Camejo, who passed away this year.
