Monday October 7 was the one-year mark of the most recent campaign by Israel for the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinian people.
For an entire year...
Israel's genocidal war offensive in Palestine in response to the heartbreaking October 7, 2023 Hamas attack, has already rained 70,000 tons of bombs on civilians, has directly killed 41,000+ people and injured over 97,000+. An additional 140,000+ people have been indirectly killed due to the war and 1.9 million Gazans (an estimated 90%) have been displaced while sick, starving and suffering from lack of medical facilities, according to an IMEU report.
For an entire year...
The American people along with the global community have protested in opposition to Israel's brutal war in Gaza that has destroyed not only lives and livelihoods, but also the majority of the infrastructure; mosques, churches, schools, hospitals, homes, and even refugee tents and shelters.
And yet, for an entire year...
the Biden/Harris administration and the Democratic and Republican Parties have enthusiastically ensured a major boost to the already steady stream of Israeli military aid and weapons to the tune of $18+ BILLION, including 24,000+ bombs, while publicly proclaiming their unwavering commitment to Netanyahu's genocidal agenda.
With the support of our White House and the U.S. Congress, Netanyahu has simultaneously waged 17,000 bombing campaigns in Gaza, West bank, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, and Iran, since Oct. 7, 2023, leading to retaliations by some of those governments.
These brutal military offenses by Israel have destabilized the entire region into a tinderbox ready to ignite into WWIII with the decisive involvement of the U.S., EU and their nuclear weapons.
This ongoing humanitarian catastrophe perpetuated by Israel across the Middle East is coupled with the environmental and ecological disaster that will leave its mark on the planet for decades to come.
The unthinkable is unfolding before our eyes. How did we get to this precipice?
The U.S. government bears direct responsibility for this genocide and the horrors of this war that many people are enduring today!
Our AIPAC-funded so-called representatives and the Democratic Party leadership have clearly demonstrated who they serve. As our own communities across the country struggle with poverty, access to healthcare, housing, food security, and climate disasters, those false leaders continue to divert obscene amounts of our precious resources to fund wars.
We urge every American to rise in solidarity with the Green Party to condemn these acts of war and violence against civilians, demand that our government immediately stop funding this genocide and work to broker peace talks for a one-state solution, as the Green Party platform outlines.
Please join Greens and other peace advocates in your community in ongoing actions and protests to demand our government wage peace, not war.
