Green Party plenary discussion/brainstorming session:

Objective: how to better coordinate our state party

Saturday morning, May 22nd 10am to noon

Problem: For many years, there has been a general concern about the shifting membership/participation/ leadership/institutional memory in our statewide working groups, often changing from state meeting to state meeting.

Response: The Coordinating Commitee has initiated a process to make the GPCA more effective on the state level. A Restructuring Working Group (RWG) is being established. It's mandate is to receive input, and formulate proposals for discussion and possible action by the state party. Input will be sought in Orange County.
Questions to consider/hoped for outcomes of GPCA state restructuring process:

• How to stabilize WG membership
• Clarify roles and responsibilities of WGs and WG members (including WG mission statement)
• Ensure proposals will undergo sufficient process before being put before the general assembly
• Clarify goal/role of WG meeting time at plenaries and gatherings, as well as in-between, both face-to-face and on-line. Ensure quality work time for each WG.
• How often shoud the state party meet and in what fashion?
• Coordinate WG needs/goals with state CC agenda planning to help long-term planning. Better coordinate state agenda planning to electoral cycles (including taking positions on statewide initiatives).
• Better documentation of WGs’ work, including web archiving
