Activist Training and Development Working Group

Mission - The mission of the Activist Training & Development Working Group (ATDWG) is to train and support Green activists, both to develop awareness and understanding of key issues & to support and advance their ability and confidence in a wide variety of roles they may wish to take on.

This includes working to:

  • Develop a strategy for integrating training and development into Green activism;
  • Develop training opportunities which support and enhance Green activists' abilities to undertake any tasks or roles which they would like to fill;
  • Organize training & discussion on key issues and debates which Green activists have to navigate;
  • Support counties in developing locally-based trainings as desired;
  • Support GPCA in building and maintaining a culture dedicated to the training and development of its activists at all levels and in as many channels as is reasonable.

Get Involved

The Activist Training and Development Working Group meets as needed by teleconference and at state party meetings, as well as coordinating day to day tasks via Slack. Any Green Party member can participate. Working group members earn voting privileges when they attend at least two working group meetings within two years.

The Co-coordinators of the Activist Training & Development Working Group are Diana Brown (11/2018 - 11/2020, Los Angeles County) and Reed Heisley-Shellaby (11/2018 - 11/2020, Orange County), and Sadie Fulton as CC Liaison (2/2019 - 2/2021).
