5) Decision: Location of GPCA Gatherings (State Meeting Committee)

Background: The GPCA State Meeting Planning Committee has been searching for appropriate, affordable venues in Northern and Southern California, for Gatherings on dates approved by the Coordinating Committee on January 19.  The following proposals reflect the recommendations of the State Meeting Planning Committee:
 
Proposal #1 (Presented by Feinstein): That the CC approve the location of the April 6/7 GPCA Gathering at Santa Monica College.

Proposal #2 (Presented by Brashares): That the CC approve the location of the April 13/14 GPCA Gathering to be at Laney College in Oakland, if a campus club is identified to sponsor the events, so that the rental costs are waived; or the conference facilities at the California Nurses Association offices in Oakland are similarly available at no or minimal cost.

6) Discussion: GPCA Strategic Plan

The FY2012-2014 GPCA Strategic Plan was reviewed and discussed the following topics: increasing party voter registration; planning for 2014 elections and candidate development, including the statewide slate/statewide constitutional offices; how the existence of Proposition 14 (or if it is overturned) will affect planning for 2014; how the GPCA would conduct its county council elections in 2014 if they are not conducted by the state of California; incresing membership and activity of party committees and working groups; future items before the Standing General Assembly
