Report: GPCA Proposal to host the GPUS 2017 Annual National Meeting (Coordinating Committee)

Background: At its June 27-28 General Assembly, the GPCA approved its annual two-year strategic plan, and included language that "The FY2015-2017 GPCA Strategic Plan shall include the following topics: ________ and planning to submit an application to the GPUS to host the GPUS 2017 Annual National Meeting, that the GPCA's application for the 2017 Annual National Meeting contain the primary dates in the San Francisco Bay Area at a location to be determined, and that the preceding weekend there be a minimum of a one day event in Southern California, to include camapaign school and offer to host a meeting of the Green Party National Latino Caucus, that would also feature Southern California Latino/a Greens."

Since then the Coordinating Committee has created a 2017 Annual National Meeting planning sub-committee, which submited the following draft timeline to the Coordinating Committee, which it approved at its November teleconference. At the same time, the Green Party of Alameda is researching venues in the Richmond/Berkeley/Oakland area.

Saturday, July 22 - GPUS Latinx caucus nat’l meeting, Campaign school, Saturday evening event, Los Angeles
Sunday, July 23 - open at present, possible beach social gathering in Santa Monica; travel to Bay Area
Monday, July 24 -  field trips to non-profits, community organizations in LA Area; travel to Bay Area, field trips to non-profits, community organizations in Bay Area
Tuesday, July 25 - travel to Bay Area, field trips to non-profits, community organizations in Bay Area
Wednesday, July 26 - travel to Bay Area, field trips to non-profits, community organizations in Bay Area, Evening opening reception
Thursday, July 27 - ANM workshops, San Francisco (near BART)
Friday, July 28 - ANM workshops, GPUS NC meeting, East Bay
