Pam Hartwell-Herrero is the Executive Director of Sustainable Fairfax and was elected to the Council in November of 2009. She lives in Fairfax with her husband Matt and daughter Kamin.
"I love Fairfax, and am honored to serve this community as a member of the Town Council. Fairfax offers a unique character that has left so many towns in this country. We strive to be on the cutting edge of environmental care and our community is active and engaged. I'm committed to seeing Fairfax prosper on its terms and remain a great place to live."
Since moving to the Ross Valley in 1993, I have worked to bring about progressive change. It has been a joy to have my daughter in Fairfax schools for the last 10 years. Since 2004, I have served as Director of Sustainable Fairfax, organizing and educating the people of Fairfax to increase the resilience of our environment, economy, and community.
Goals:
We must support our local businesses while encouraging sustainable downtown improvements, without raising height and story limits
The integrity of our neighborhoods must be preserved and improved for walking and biking while allowing reasonable enhancement of homes for growing families
We must be prepared and fund the services our town has come to expect, including keeping our Police Station and Firehouse staffed 24/7
I know that we can accomplish these goals while protecting our natural resources, strengthening our economy and fostering community. I will be a reasonable, thoughtful, and accessible representative of the people of Fairfax.
